It’s Rock n’ Roll!

Hi folks! Been a minute since I’ve taking the time to write and I apologize for that. No excuses really but more of the fact that I have been doing different things and had put this on the back burner for a while. I’m thinking about touching a little on music today for starters and see where it takes us ok. Alrighty then!

Recently I had the fortune of attending a concert and was given meet and greet passes from a dear friend of mine and had a blast being treated like royalty. It was my first back stage pass in going to concerts since the early seventies and I enjoyed it immensely. So today I will leave you with some photos taken at the Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience featuring two lovely ladies that haven’t lost the touch. Ann and Nancy Wilson aka Heart.

Let’s start with Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson first hit the scene in the 70’s exploding onto the charts with “Magic Man” and “Barracuda”. Their sound was unique but more than that here was a female duo that did much more than sing, they wrote and played their own music. This was as far as I know the first female band to accomplish this feat. Known for coming out of Seattle, the sister’s were in hollywood when the big break arrived for them and launched their journey to fame. 30 million record sales later these ladies are still rockin’ the stage and not missing a beat.

Around five years prior to Heart hitting it big there was a baby boy born in Dudley, Worcestershire England and by the time he was four years old was playing a mini-drum set in the movie “The Song Remains The Same“.  In 1988 Jason caught another moment in time when he recorded and toured with Jimmy Page on the “Outrider” album and tour. In May of 1988 he joined the remaining members of Led Zeppelin for the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary tour. With music infused in his blood he also conquered movies with a part in “Rock Star” in 2001 and has become a force to be reckoned with in today’s music scene. Sitting backstage with him was an honor and the stories we shared had me rolling’ as well as when he was on stage he had me rockin’.  If you haven’t already, check out Black Country Communion and give a listen to this master of drums.
